| Treadmill Maintenance |
| Tunturi equipment are
designed to need little maintenance. However, it is advisable to
periodically check the tightness of all fixing screws to ensure training
safety. Also an important part of the product maintenance is to use it
according to the Owner’s Manual instructions: read them carefully and keep
the Manual so you can refer to it if need be. After exercising, the equipment should always be cleaned with a soft, absorbent cloth. Never use solvents. Cleaning the equipment removes sweat, which may cause corrosion: it is a good idea to protect all metal surfaces outside the covers with teflon or car wax. Removing sweat also minimizes the possibility of electric malfunctions. Motorized treadmills require certain maintenance actions to ensure trouble-free operation: 1. Keep the treadmill and also the area near the treadmill clean. While in use, the treadmill gathers dust that may cause problems in the operation of the equipment. 2. Treadmills need be lubricated to ensure lowest possible friction between the belt and the running deck: this prolongs the life time for the belt, deck and the belt motor. Tunturi have developed the T-Lube S treadmill lubricant: only this lubricant must be used in Tunturi treadmills. In average domestic use (a maximum of 60 minutes a day), you should check the lubrication once a year. Furthermore, if there is any jerky movement of the belt, always check the lubrication level. To do this, let the treadmill come to a complete stop, lift the running belt to feel the running deck with your hand; if the deck feels dry and there is very little evidence of lubricant on your hand, lubricate the running deck according to the Owner’s Manual instructions. 3. Ensure that the belt is properly aligned. The belt must run in the center of the running area. The easy alignment is instructed in the Owner’s Manual. 4. Ensure that the belt tightness is correct; it must not slip, yet it needs to be sufficiently loose. The easy tightening of the belt is instructed in the Owner’s Manual. |
